Why switching to Google Analytics 4 should not be postponed
As of July 1, 2023, the web service Google Universal Analytics will be discontinued and replaced by the GA4. The UA service allows for data collection and analysis only until June 30, 2023. An early implementation of the new service ensures a smooth transition to the new information collection system, while providing uninterrupted analyses of website and application results without any main data losses.
Are you switching to the new system in the last minute?
We do not recommend this, as the data from UA cannot be transferred to GA4. If you decide to switch to the new system in the last minute, you will lose all the data that is currently available to you in Google Universal Analytics. One of the main changes concerns the data acquisition. GA4 offers 3 different methods of identifying the visitor, who is tracked regardless of the device used (tablet, computer, and smartphone).
Thus, you will lose the possibility of making business decisions based on accurate and comprehensive data. Google Analytics 4 offers users more choice and flexibility in setting up the parameters. However, that also means more work with setting up the advanced analytics, which follows visitors through the various steps, correlates events on the page, and analyses the sales performance and the purchasing behaviour.
