GOOGLE ANALYTICS 4 (GA4) IS THE FUTURE OF ADVERTISING

Google Analytics 4 (GA4) represents a new standard of the Google Analytics platform. It replaces Universal Analytics (UA), which becomes obsolete on July 1, 2023. One of the key marketing tools, it helps gain indispensable insights into website user behaviour and to understand traffic. The new data model will offer a smooth integration of the various data streams, thus providing an accurate record of the visitors’ journeys and simplifying data analyses.

Why switching to Google Analytics 4 should not be postponed

As of July 1, 2023, the web service Google Universal Analytics will be discontinued and replaced by the GA4. The UA service allows for data collection and analysis only until June 30, 2023. An early implementation of the new service ensures a smooth transition to the new information collection system, while providing uninterrupted analyses of website and application results without any main data losses.

Are you switching to the new system in the last minute?

We do not recommend this, as the data from UA cannot be transferred to GA4. If you decide to switch to the new system in the last minute, you will lose all the data that is currently available to you in Google Universal Analytics. One of the main changes concerns the data acquisition. GA4 offers 3 different methods of identifying the visitor, who is tracked regardless of the device used (tablet, computer, and smartphone).

Thus, you will lose the possibility of making business decisions based on accurate and comprehensive data. Google Analytics 4 offers users more choice and flexibility in setting up the parameters. However, that also means more work with setting up the advanced analytics, which follows visitors through the various steps, correlates events on the page, and analyses the sales performance and the purchasing behaviour.

What advanced use options does Google Analytics 4 offer?

Google Analytics 4 offers users several advanced options, among which the most important are:

  • Use of additional data sources
  • Greater flexibility in the framework setup
  • Tracking of visitors across different domains
  • Using more custom dimensions and metrics
  • Customizing parameters and events in the tool
  • More detailed tracking of conversions
  • The attribution model (cross-channel data driven model)
  • Comprehensive reports (real-time report, monetization, retention, demographic reports, acquisitions, activities, etc.)

What do these options mean for your business and how can you use them effectively?

The metrics will not only improve the website performance, but will also significantly affect the future of advertising. GA4 offers a number of measurement settings that can be adjusted to your company’s needs. Machine learning, on the other hand, creates deep insights into visitor behaviour and conversions. More data and the upgraded tools will simplify the decision-making about the marketing campaigns, new services and products. All of this, in turn, will be reflected in the performance of the company.
