WHY DO WE NEED IT?

Online marketing encompasses all available types of advertising that take place online or with the help of the web. Online marketing includes Google Ads, as well as advertising via social networks such as Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, including e-mail marketing, advertising on websites, etc.

Today, the web is very much like a crowded marketplace, with competitors positioned on your right and left, offering similar products to yours. Because of the confusion potential customers are not sure from which stand they should take an apple.

To stay noticed in such a space, you have to be slightly intrusive but still respectful, loud and different. This can be achieved online in three ways.

BRANDING – ADVERTISING YOUR BRAND

Branding strengthens the recognition of your company or a brand of a product that your company manufactures. Building a well-recognized brand begins already with the production and design of the packaging and the logo. When focusing on the advertising aspect of the branding, we can only achieve it with a large amount of advertising and with solid work practices. Only satisfied customers will return to become regular customers. With extensive and long-term advertising, we reach a wide range of people. In such advertising, we usually do not limit ourselves to current potential customers, as we have to think in a broader manner.

If we sell products that are suitable for the elderly, we should be aware that teenagers and young people will also be part of that group in the future. Satisfied grandparents will transfer their trust into brands to younger generations.

In the past, branding was built solely on the tradition of building trust, but today everything is happening faster. Customers of today express their opinion in many ways, while the online reach of their satisfaction or dissatisfaction is unlimited.

The brand should therefore be pleasing to the eye and advertised for as long as it takes it to get anchored in the clients’ memory. At the same time, the purchase should be made in such a way that a satisfied customer becomes a regular customer. Of course, this does not mean that the products have to be cheap or that customers should be forced to buy them repeatedly. However, good practices should be followed in product returns due to defects or other factors, complemented by free cashbacks, fast communication and customer support, as well as being consistent in protecting personal data, etc.

ADVERTISING PRODUCTS OR SERVICES

Advertising products or services is quite different from the branding described above. Here, the intention is to sell the product or the service in question. Advertising is targeted at today’s customer, so the company should know their customers well. During the sales periods, advertising is shorter in duration or it frequently changes. The whole spectrum of the marketing tools is used, from offering the most affordable products and limited promotional offers, to advertising high quality or well-done services. The form of advertisements also changes more quickly and adapts to the season, the customer’s taste, the type of the product and the person targeted. With such advertising, we also limit the type of space where the ad will appear. It is commonly known that people in various age groups use different social networks. The average age of Facebook users has risen well above 30 years, Instagram is targeting the generations in their late twenties and early thirties. TikTok is currently popular among teenagers and has its own way of atypical advertising. Among all these, there are the increasingly popular influencers, several new social networks, the collapse of older ones, etc.

 

SEO

Search Engine Optimization mainly aims for organic hits. With successful positioning of your site, the possibility of people visiting it increases. Of course, this depends on whether potential customers enter your services, products and/or brand into the Google search engine.

If we build a product that no one has heard of, there is no competition because such a product does not yet exist, which means that there will be no online searches. In such a case, only classic online advertising can be useful to begin with. Of course, after a successful start, we should not forget about the SEO. In addition, since the effects of website optimization are visible later than those of the traditional advertising, it is advisable to include the SEO at the beginning of the entire process already.

Facebook

Facebook is an online social network or platform that allows its users to create a personal profile and easily share content (pictures, opinions, events, thoughts, etc.) with other Facebook users. The Facebook platform was created in 2004 and, according to the latest data from 2022, had more than 2.9 billion active users worldwide at that time.

Facebook advertising works by targeting the people who have previously expressed their interest in the products or services offered by the ad. Ads are displayed on the right side of the Facebook page, where the person interested can find out more about the product offered by double-clicking the button. Within the platform, there are other ways of advertising, such as the so-called boosting of certain posts and more. The Facebook advertising and its ads are charged on a cost-per-click, cost-per-thousand-impressions, or cost-per-action basis.

Whereas on Facebook, the user can post and share just about anything, Instagram has focused exclusively on the visual aspect of the platform and thus enables communication mainly through images and videos. Users can add short captions, #hashtags and even location tags to their posts. Interaction with other users of the platform takes place mainly by liking, commenting and tagging posts.

Instagram ads are created using the same tools that are used to create regular posts, but they are labelled as sponsored. The ads are selected based on user demographics and interests. The ad settings can be tailored to a range of goals, including website visits, app installs, brand awareness or even product sales. The ads can also be targeted to a specific audience, such as by location, gender or age group. They are billed on a cost-per-click or cost-per-impression basis.
